The Communications Co-Op will support the Global Communications Team in both internal and external communications relating to the global business. Primary tasks will include drafting and editing copy for the company intranet, as well as the global corporate website, and managing an editorial calendar for a suite of communication vehicles. Additionally, this role will support the production of quarterly Town Halls, rollout of new corporate branding, and increase employee engagement through a new culture initiative. This role will also support internal and external social media content development.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as editing abilities. Must be organized and possess the ability to multi-task. Knowledge of AP Style is a plus.

Education Minimum Requirement:   

  • Must have completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, Animal Science or related degree program by May 2018.
  • Should be available to work full time for 6 months and must return back to school after completing the co-op
  • Required Experience and Skills: 

  • Demonstrated interpersonal/communication and presentation skills 
  • Computer skills including working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to use an iPad
  • Ability to be organized, adapt to a changing environment, work independently and also as part of a team
  • Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Pursuing degree in communications, marketing or journalism
  • Strong writing and editing abilities
  • Knowledge of AP style
  • Design skills are a plus
