Position purpose/general duties:

Maintains adequate supplies

Participates in ordering and monitoring levels of inventory, preventing stock-outs

Participates in planning and budgeting for equipment and supplies

Assigns special projects to Clinical Laboratory Scientist, to be completed as time permits

Establishes and monitors Quality Control data, takes action based on data as needed

Establishes Preventative Maintenance schedules and ensures that they are completed

Approves overtime, calls in extra help with needed, within budget limitations

Review work with subordinates

Monitors compliance with Laboratory Safety Policies

Participates in selecting new Clinical Laboratory Scientists

Participates directly in writing policies and protocols for new or changed procedures

Assures proper calibration and function of Laboratory equipment

Monitors equipment maintenance including equipment service contracts

Maintains schedule and logs of all preventative maintenance and remedial action for each piece of equipment

Assists in developing and assures documentation of Quality Assurance / Quality Control program to comply with all regulatory standards

Intervenes with approved remedial action protocols when defined parameters are exceeded

Monitors compliance with Laboratory Safety Policies

 Participates in selecting new Clinical Laboratory Scientists

Participates directly in writing policies and protocols for new or changed procedures

 Assures proper calibration and function of Laboratory equipment

Minimum experience/education requirements:

  • 5 -7 years of experience
  • PHD degree in a science field

  • Analysis
