Microscopy Facility Manager/Assistant Director
The Cell Imaging Center, a light microscopy core facility on the main campus (University City) of Drexel University has a position available for an experienced microscopy specialist. The individual will oversee and manage the operations of a core facility, which includes wide-field and confocal laser scanning microscopes (Zeiss LSM700/Olympus FluoView 1000), a DeltaVision OMX super-resolution imaging system with 3D-SIM and TIRF imaging capabilities, a two-photon excitation microscope (Prairie Technologies/Bruker) and a BD FACS Canto flow cytometer. Job duties will include: training users in the operation of the facility's instruments; providing consultation to users in collecting and analyzing data; maintaining and trouble-shooting instrumentation; administering and overseeing the processing of invoices and purchase requests; tracking and documenting instrument use; conducting occasional facility tours and open houses for advertising, recruiting and fund raising purposes; assisting in the preparation of annual reports and the writing of shared instrumentation grants; overseeing the facility's website and on-line reservation system.
