The Rutgers Brain Health Institute (http://brainhealthinstitute.rutgers.edu/) is recruiting a tenure-track faculty at the Assistant Professor level who studies mechanisms related to Alzheimer’s disease (AD) or associated dementias. The ideal candidate would use modern electrophysiological, optogenetic or chemogenetic approaches to characterize changes in synaptic function in animal models that contribute to the memory or other cognitive declines observed in AD/Dementia. Applicants must have a PhD, MD or equivalent degree; external research funding is also desired. In addition to a strong funded research program, quality of research and fit with other strengths at Rutgers are important considerations (see BHI website).  We offer a competitive salary and an excellent start-up package. Rutgers offers tremendous collaborative opportunities with over 250 neuroscience faculty labs engaged in basic, clinical and translational research, and proximity to New York, Princeton and Philadelphia neuroscience communities. We also offer strong core facilities to support and grow an active research program. Applicants should submit a CV, statement of research accomplishments and plans, and names of at least three references to Dr. Luciano D’Adamio, Director of the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, a component of the Rutgers Brain Health Institute, at bhi@ca.rutgers.edu.
