UAB Department of Biostatistics   FACULTY POSITION IN STATISTICAL GENETICS/STATISTICAL GENOMICS

The Department of Biostatistics invites applications for a non-tenure earning Assistant or Associate Professor with a focus in Statistical Genetics/Statistical Genomics. Faculty will be given the opportunity to develop their own independent line of research and will have substantial opportunities to collaborate and publish with well-established and very productive biomedical investigators. This is an excellent opportunity to expand one's career into one of the most rapidly progressing and in-demand areas of scientific research. Candidates will ideally have a background in statistical genetics/genomics, but must have a doctoral degree in statistics, biostatistics or related field and strong skills in mathematics and computations and a willingness to learn to apply these techniques to genetic research and demonstrated quantitative skills. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in analysis of epigenetics/epigenomics, RNA-Seq, metabolomics, whole-genome sequencing, and microbiome. Proven ability to support collaborating investigators' innovative research is required. We are seeking an intelligent, quantitatively skilled, and productive person who enjoys and excels at working as a team player with inter-disciplinary colleagues. Some graduate level teaching will be available but not required.
