  • Responsible for multidisciplinary project leadership, strategy and execution as well as performance management and personal development of a team of 7-10 scientific team members.
  • Will oversee a portfolio of projects, provide strategic guidance through direct reports and be responsible for rigorous scientific quality and pipeline progress.
  • Participate in department-level activities such as strategic direction, recruiting and resource-management
  • Furthermore, the candidate will participate in cross-functional teams across the wider discovery organization and may be responsible for communication with governance and external collaborations
  • Identify and validate new targets through chemistry and review opportunities for collaboration, licensing and acquisition in support of the pipeline
  • Must have strong interpersonal, cross functional collaboration and communication skills

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

·        Required:  Ph.D. in Chemistry and/or Biochemistry with a minimum of (5) years Industry experience in Drug Discovery 


Required Experience:

·        Training and mentoring team members in drug discovery.

·        Project leadership experience

·        Experience in methodology/catalysis, total synthesis, chemical biology, or physical organic chemistry

·        Strong communication, collaboration and leadership skills in a team environment

Preferred Experience:

·        Experience in the design and characterization of small molecules, peptides, or biologics

·        Track record of training and mentoring team members in synthesis and drug discovery

·        Experience in drug discovery project leadership and strategic-thinking

·        Proven track record of solving complex problems.
