A full-time Postdoctoral research fellowship position is available immediately in Dr. Nicolae Valentin David’s laboratory at Northwestern University – Feinberg School of Medicine, Division of Nephrology and Hypertension and Center for Translational Metabolism and Health. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work in the broad areas of bone and mineral metabolism with special focus on FGF23 and associated diseases. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research environment in the Chicago downtown medical campus and a highly collaborative research team led by a group of principal investigator that are supported by a large portfolio of grants from National Institutes of Health and from industry (

Successful candidates must hold a PhD. or equivalent degree with expertise broadly relevant to the research areas. Prior experience with mouse genetics, cell and molecular biology, protein analysis, bone biology, or a related field is preferred. Successful candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills evidenced by a record of research publications and presentations, and must be self-driven with the ability to work in a team environment. The position requires excellent organizational skills and research independence. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the activities of their project, possibly leading Ph.D. students, managing projects and generating data, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and presenting at conferences.
