As part of a continued major Faculty recruitment effort, the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level. Exceptional candidates will also be considered for a higher rank. We seek candidates with broad training in Anatomy, Histology and/or human or veterinary Pathology who have nationally competitive research, or who have the capability to develop such a research program in collaboration with DBMS faculty. The candidate’s research will preferably be in one or more of the following areas in which we already have major strengths: cardiovascular, cancer, neuroscience, microbiology, and immunology. Applicants should have a strong publication record and, preferably, extramural grant funding. A demonstrated ability or potential to teach is required, as responsibilities will include teaching Anatomy and/or Histology to medical students. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Expertise and ability to build a nationally competitive research program which hosts trainees and collaborates within the department. Experience in teaching medical or biomedical anatomy and/or histology courses or the willingness to develop such skills is required. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD, DVM and/or MD plus postdoctoral research productivity in a related biomedical research area, as evidenced by a strong recent publication record. Preferred Qualifications: Nationally funded research program. Teaching experience. Rank/Salary: Competitive starting salary commensurate with education and experience.
