The Columbia University Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center seeks a core manager  to organize and execute data acquisition of the proteomics laboratory. Responsibilities include supervising laboratory personnel, conducting and overseeing quality assurance and quality control, and collecting, analyzing, and interpreting mass spectrometry results.
Tasks involve:
- Acquiring data from high-resolution mass spectrometers to produce reliable and precise data for scientific investigations;
- Carrying out routine tasks accurately and following strict standard operating protocols (SOP) to maintain the instrumentation;
- Preparing affinity enriched samples to be analyzed in the proteomic core facility;
- Designing analytic strategies to analyze samples submitted to the proteomic core facility;
- Ensuring the proteomics facility is well-stocked and resourced;
- Recording and interpreting results to present to users of the facility;
- Using computers and performing bioinformatics analysis to generate proteomic data;
- Keeping up to date with technical developments, especially those which can save time and improve reliability;
- Conducting pubmed searches on identified topics relevant to the research;
