We are seeking candidates for a position at the rank of assistant professor or research assistant professor with a background in medicinal chemistry. The candidate’s research should be focused on applying his/her research experience & knowledge to multiple projects using a wide variety of advanced medicinal chemistry and chemical biology techniques to address key research questions in developing novel drugs for treating traumatic brain injury (TBI)/Alzheimer’s disease, osteoporosis, and multiple myeloma, as well as for hematopoietic stem cell expansion, preferably targeting GPCRs, cannabinoid CB2 receptor, p18 or p62 mediated cell signaling or autophagy. Work experience with FDA IND enabling preclinical studies and the preparation/review of scientific data summaries related to IND, NDA and CDT applications is a plus. The successful candidate will be expected to oversee and mentor postdoctoral researchers and graduate students working on chemical biology and medicinal chemistry experimental projects in the Computational Chemical Genomics Screening Center (http://www.cbligand.org/xielab). Candidates should have a PhD, MD, PharmD or equivalent in the field of medicinal chemistry or biophysics. The candidate must have strong communication and writing skills.
