Assistant/Associate Professor in Bioengineering

The Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience, an interdisciplinary marine research center of the University of Florida, seeks to fill a tenure-track, full-time research faculty position in Bioengineering at the assistant/associate professor level.  The successful candidate will be expected to develop a competitive, extramurally-funded research program that incorporates quantitative, engineering and/or computational approaches to investigate mechanisms of behavior at any level of biological organization using marine organisms. Areas of expertise may include, but are not limited to, biomechanics, animal migration/movement ecology, machine learning, fluid dynamics and physiology.  The Whitney Laboratory currently has research strength in genomics, neuroscience, biomechanics, evolution, regeneration and development.  The successful candidate will be expected to integrate across one or more of these disciplines, leverage the unique opportunities of an experimental marine lab setting and form links to the larger University research community.  Further information about the Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience can be found at www.whitney.ufl.edu.
