Associate/Full Professor of Regenerative Medicine
The University of Florida (UF) College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is recruiting an established researcher for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in regenerative medicine at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor. Applicants must hold a PhD, DVM, MD or equivalent degree with post-doctoral research training and have an established, productive and extramurally funded research program in a subfield of regenerative medicine. Candidates with a well-established research focus on translational research using animal models, especially in the areas of stem cell therapies, gene therapy, neural/organ regeneration, neuroplasticity and/or tissue engineering, are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants with significant transferable federal funding, a track record of applied research, and tenured status will be given preference.
This is a new faculty position created under UF’s Preeminence Initiative, a $900 million state initiative to increase research excellence at UF. This recruitment is part of a growing commitment by UF to investigate and provide solutions to health challenges that involve humans, animals, and their environments in dynamic local, national, and international settings. The successful candidate will be a member of the CVM faculty with a likely appointment in the Department of Physiological Sciences, which is located within the UF Health Science Center. Current CVM faculty have strong, federally funded research programs and active collaborations with investigators in other UF colleges, including Medicine, Public Health and Health Professions, Engineering and Dentistry. These research collaborations include neural regeneration, respiratory/visceral physiology/pathophysiology, dermatology, cardiology, ophthalmology, oncology, toxicology, mucosal immunology. Additionally, there are opportunities to collaborate in sports medicine, biomedical engineering, orthopedic surgery, arthritis, neuro-muscular injury/disease, cancer and/or aging. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in mentoring and teaching graduate and professional degree students.
