The research aims to study the cellular and molecular bases of neurodevelopmental disorders using a combination of behavioral, neurobiological and molecular techniques such as gene expression analysis, neuroanatomy and molecular genetics. Using neuroanatomical analysis of specific neurotransmitter systems (dopaminergic, serotonergic, noradrenergic, GABAergic etc) and genome-wide expression profiling, the project aims to identify the circuits participating to social predispositions and their alterations in genetic and pharmacological models of neurodevelopmental disorders. The research assistant will therefore design genome-editing experiments to create new animal models of neurodevelopmental disorders, and will analyze the behavioral, neuroanatomical and molecular alterations in brain circuits important for social predispositions.
