Primary Purpose
We seek a physiologist for a tenure-track faculty position. All faculty in the Department of Biological Sciences are expected to contribute to programs in the core curriculum, service courses in support of other programs (general education and Kasiska Division of Health Sciences), create a sustainable research program involving graduate and undergraduate students, and engage in outreach activities. The successful candidate will develop a sustainable biomedical research program that integrates graduate and undergraduate trainees. Teaching responsibilities will depend on expertise but may include courses in: upper division undergraduate anatomy and physiology, graduate and pre-professional systemic physiology, and pathophysiology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach courses that contribute to the core curriculum of the department.
  • Conduct scholarly research involving graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Teach courses in support of programs in the Division of Health Sciences.
  • Conduct service in support of the department, college, institution, and profession.
  • Contribute to community outreach and student recruiting activities in support of the department.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed Ph.D. in biology, physiology, or related field
  • Postdoctoral research experience
  • Record of scholarly research as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in relevant journals
  • Experience relevant to teaching human anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology
  • Clear, concise, and effective oral communication in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching human anatomy and physiology to undergraduate, graduate, and pre-health professional students
  • Experience directing research projects involving graduate and undergraduate students
  • Successful grant writing experience

The approved salary is $63,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience. Includes a competitive benefits package.
