Duke Head and Neck Research Scientist

The Division of Head and Neck Surgery & Communication Sciences, Department of Surgery, and Duke University Cancer Institute (DCI) invite applications for a faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level.  We are seeking a creative and highly motivated individual with preferred PhD expertise in cancer immunology, who will focus on head and neck cancer. The successful candidate will find opportunities both for basic investigation and translational interaction with surgical, radiation, and medical oncologists. Both avenues of pursuit are encouraged. Applicants should have a demonstrated record of accomplishment, collaboration and success in obtaining grant funding (e.g. federal, foundation, internal). This position includes the opportunity to participate and/or lead the subsequent development of a multi-disciplinary head and neck research program including the supervision and mentorship of MD and PhD trainees.

The position provides an attractive start-up package and outstanding opportunities for collaboration with translational and clinical investigators.  The Duke University School of Medicine and DCI offer exceptional technical resources in many areas, including animal facilities, immune profiling, mass cytometry, flow cytometry, imaging, microscopy, proteomics, genomics and bioinformatics.  The Duke Head and Neck Cancer Program has a strong track record of involvement in institutional and multi-institutional prospective trials, as well as collecting biospecimens for correlative studies.  Candidates are expected to participate in the teaching and mentoring activities of the Duke University School of Medicine for medical students, residents, graduate students and clinical fellows.

Duke University Medical Center is a major academic research institution that is located in the Research Triangle region of North Carolina.
