Merck Research Lab is currently recruiting for a summer intern within Infectious Diseases and Vaccines. The candidate should have experience with laboratory techniques such as cell culture, Western Blotting or ELISA, PCR, transfection, and other molecular biology techniques.  The goal of the internship is to work with scientists developing medicines for the treatment or prevention of infectious diseases.  Knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and graphing software (GraphPad Prism) are required.  This position would best suit someone with a background and interest in virology, microbiology, and/or immunology.



  • Required: Candidates must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in the sciences or a related field, including biology.

  • Candidates must be returning to school in the Fall of 2018.

  • Required Experience:

  • Candidates must be available to work full-time for 9-12 weeks beginning in May or June of 2018

  • Candidates must have experience with laboratory techniques such as cell culture, Western Blotting or ELISA, transfection, and other molecular biology techniques.

  • Candidates must have experience with and knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and graphing software (GraphPad Prism)

  • Preferred Experience:

    • Virology or microbiology experience
