Oversees the global executive recruiting function focused on roles for Vice President level and above
Drives executive search and sourcing strategy globally
Develops strong partnership with Human Resources Business Partners at the Human Resource Leadership Team level as well as Talent Management to understand succession issues and proactively develops candidate pipeline and talent mapping accordingly with the ability to speak to external market insights
Creates an executive selection process that provides an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience that ensures a high degree of candidate engagement along the way
Develops strong relationships with Merck executives, creating confidence in the executive recruiting function to the extent that it is seen as the “go-to” organization for candidate and market insights and trusts their view on when to use search and who should be utilized
Conducts external searches utilizing direct sourcing capabilities
Develops key partnerships with a limited number of external search partners utilizing them strategically when necessary, but also ensuring global guidelines are in place for contracts
Drives on-going sourcing strategies and pro-actively connects with external talent to glean external market data and competitive intelligence while building future pipeline
Acts as partner and advisor to senior Talent Acquisition Advisor’s globally handling Director and Executive Director positions to help them create sourcing strategies and ensure a positive candidate experience
Partners closely with executive compensation to develop an in-depth understanding of the compensation programs and ensures effective communication to executive level candidates regarding unique compensation attraction tools (i.e. pension, executive LTI)
Creates, implements and measures KPIs – demonstrating ROI of the function
Manages Sourcing team – which provides support to US Talent Acquisition Center Of Excellence as well as the Executive Recruiting function
Minimum of 15 years of work experience; minimum of 5 years focused on executive search (both in-house and external search experience) and 2 years leading the executive search function at a fortune 100 company
Strong business acumen
Excellent communication skills
Ability to influence, consult and collaborate at all levels of the organization
Understanding of metrics and analytics
External labor market and best practice knowledge
