Merck Research Lab is currently recruiting for a summer intern within Cell Pharmacology. The candidate would have experience with laboratory techniques such as cell culture, Western Blotting or ELISA, PCR, transfection, and other molecular biology techniques.  The goal would be to develop assays to study the interaction of different cell types, and learn how these assays could help promote the understanding of neurological diseases.  Knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and graphing software (GraphPad Prism) are required.  This position would best suit someone with a desire to learn in vitro techniques, and an interest in neuroscience.



  • Required: Candidates must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in biology or similar major.

  • Candidates must be returning to school in the Fall of 2018.

  • Required Experience:

  • Candidates must be available to work full-time for 9-12 weeks beginning in May or June of 2018

  • Candidates must have experience with laboratory techniques such as cell culture, Western Blotting or ELISA, transfection, and other molecular biology techniques.

  • Candidates must have knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and graphing software (GraphPad Prism)

  • Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with iPSCs

  • Use of siRNA or CRISPR

  • Performing PRC
