Merck Research Lab is currently
recruiting for a summer intern within Merck Investigator Studies Program. The
Merck Investigator Studies Program (MISP) and Consulting Group within Global
Operations is a Merck Research Laboratories organization that drafts,
negotiates, and executes agreements on a global basis.  We are responsible for negotiating
investigator-initiated clinical trial agreements, confidentiality agreements,
consulting agreements, material transfer agreements, and other agreements
related to clinical research.



 

One internship position is
available in 2018 in the MISP and Consulting group based at our Upper Gwynedd,
PA site. During the internship appointment, the candidate will work closely with
experienced contract negotiators to learn about the following topics:



  • The
    clinical trial process and scientific engagement process
  • Contract
    negotiation in a pharmaceutical setting
  • Compliance in a pharmaceutical
    setting on a global level



Qualifications

Education:

  • Required:
    Candidates must be currently pursuing a
    bachelor's degree in political science, criminal justice, English, or
    similar disciplines, or a full-time student pursuing a JD in Law with an
    interest in corporate or international law.
  • Candidates
    must be returning to school in the Fall of 2018.


  • Required
    Experience:



  • Candidates
    must be available to work full-time for 9-12 weeks beginning in June of 2018
  • Candidates
    must have superior communication and writing skills
  • Candidates
    must have excellent academic achievement and analytical ability
  • Candidates
    must be a good team player and have the ability to work independently
  • Candidates
    must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • Candidates
    must be able to travel up to (5) percent of the time.
