Responsibilities:




  • Responsible for all talent acquisition activity (business niche roles) within the US for Merck Research Labs (MRL)


  • Accountable for coaching, mentoring, managing and leading the in house Talent Acquisition Advisor team for MRL


  • Develop the division strategy for Talent Acquisition needs and partner with HR Ops / RPO to ensure effective implementation of the Talent Acquisition model for applicable roles


  • Engage with Business Leaders & HR Leaders to understand business strategy, both the internal and external research and development talent landscape, Global Talent Acquisition demand and forecasting


  • Partner with HR and Business Leaders to help them coaching and influence the best talent decisions.


  • Identify Diversity and Future Talent needs within the MRL division, develop a strategy and execute a plan in alignment with the Strategic Programs


  • Provide external market insights specific to the Research and Science based roles and consult with key stakeholders to enable effective development of solutions to address the talent needs including the areas of compensation, market competitiveness within therapeutic areas, etc.


  • Sponsor and ensure successful implementation and realization of Global Talent Acquisition programs within the divisions and across the regions


  • Build, lead and develop the Talent Acquisition team in the US, ensuring the right resources and capabilities are in place to achieve a high level of performance and engagement


  • Represent Global Talent Acquisition across the divisions to all senior stakeholders, building the function’s profile and reputation


  • Act as a single point of contact to the global divisional HR Leadership Team and Executive Committee leaders for global strategy and oversight


  • Work closely with HR Ops to manage the RPO relationship and ensure overall quality of service.


  • Accountable for divisional strategy alignment and communication across the regions


  • Develop and deliver on key performance indicators to ensure a best in class hiring manager and candidate experience


  • Work with Center Of Excellence’s to develop a strategy to engage high performing talent through university relations, executive recruiting and social media and branding

Qualifications

Education Requirement:




  • Bachelor’s degree

Required:




  • Minimum 12 years of work experience, at least 5 years in Talent Acquisition with a focus on pharmaceutical Research and Science based roles; previous management experience necessary


  • Ability to consult and collaborate at the executive level


  • Proved ability to negotiate and influence effectively at all levels of the organization through collaboration, consulting and building relationship with leaders


  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of the pharmaceutical research industry


  • Good communication skills


  • Coaching skills


  • Ability to build, develop and engage a high performing team


  • External labor market and best practice knowledge specific to Research and Science


  • Influencing and conflict management skills


  • Strategic thinking
  • Travel = 35%
