The Durham Technical Center of Excellence (CoE) consists of the Automation/MES, Deviation Management, Plant Engineering, Site Services, Technical Operations, and Validation Departments.   The Durham Technical CoE intern will primarily support one of the six Technical CoE Departments. 
The Durham Technical CoE is a team of dedicated engineers who strive to understand, monitor, and improve our manufacturing process in order to ensure the world supply.  Within the Durham Technical CoE there are opportunities to support day-to-day activities and strategic projects to ensure the Durham Bulk and Formulation/Filling facilities operate Right-First-Time in a cost effective manner.  The opportunity requires daily problem solving with other Technical CoE groups, Operations, and Quality.   
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
 

  • Assisting lead engineers in trouble shooting and resolution of unplanned events

  • Responding to requests from manufacturing areas for support

  • Assisting in providing technical support to Durham manufacturing

  • Authoring and executing protocols to support projects

  • Assisting/leading the statistical analysis of process and protocol data

  • Assisting/leading in development and implementation of process improvement projects

  • Authoring technical documentation
Qualifications



Education Minimum Requirement:
 

  • Completed a minimum of two (2) years towards a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Science.

 
Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of Engineering, Computer Science, or Science coursework

  • Available for a minimum of 9-12 weeks during June-August 2018

 
Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Three (3) years of Engineering, Computer Science, or Science coursework

  • Previous experience in a lab or manufacturing setting

  • Minimum GPA 3.0
