Merck Research Lab is seeking an intern to join their Global Data Management & Standards (GDMS) team as a Global Clinical Data Integration intern. The internship program will help the individual to utilize their skillset and increase their professional productivity. The ideal candidate for this position will have strong analytical and problem solving skills, efficient time management expertise, an ability to work in a team and handle conflicts efficiently. The intern is responsible for analyzing and maintenance of several databases. This individual will work closely with team members to support database functions by utilizing designing and coding utilities along with updating and amending the existing databases.



  • Required: Candidates must be currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Candidates must be returning to school in the Fall of 2018. 

  • Required Experience:

    • Candidates must have an understanding of database management systems software. Oracle database preferred.

    • Candidates must have experience in database development and PL/SQL, SAS.

    • Candidates must have Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, DB Access, MS Project)

    • Candidates must have a knowledge of web development, including experience with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.

    • Candidates must have experience in troubleshooting technical issues.

    • Candidates must have good analytical ability.
