Scientific Nomenclature, within Global Scientific and
Medical Publications, is seeking a summer intern with strong academic
performance, excellent communications skills, and a passion for healthcare and
technology.  This opportunity will provide an exciting atmosphere to learn
and contribute in a cross-divisional environment.  Under the supervision
of the Scientific Nomenclature Lead, the intern will complete specific projects
pertaining to system maintenance, webpage creation, and management of data used
in the drug development process.  The internship will provide hands-on
work experience coupled with personal and professional development
opportunities.  A strong background in
chemistry or biochemistry is desired.  Experience
with HTML, JAVA, and Visual Basic is highly beneficial, but not required.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Required:
    Candidates must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemistry,
    biochemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or pharmaceutical
    science.
  • Candidates
    must be returning to school in the Fall of 2018.
  • Candidates
    must have completed at least (1) year of organic chemistry prior to June of
    2018.



Required Experience:

  • Candidates
    must be available to work full-time for 9-12 weeks from June – August of 2018.
  • Candidates
    must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Candidates
    must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidates
    must be detail-oriented and able to work independently to drive a task to
    completion.
  • Candidates
    must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.



Preferred Experience:

  • Computer
    programming skills (HTML, Java, Visual Basic), knowledge of Oracle databases
  • Demonstrated
    education and/or experience with chemical nomenclature (IUPAC or CAS)
