How will you invent the future?


As our Web Development Team Lead at Merck’s Austin IT HUB, you will be part of inventing tomorrow. Our Innovative centers are where great people come together and deliver solutions that save and improve lives.


We are seeking motivated talent interested in solving problems to improve tomorrow.

You will:

  • Establish and lead a team of Web Developers and Solutions Architects focused on building and evolving our Web and Portal environment.
  • Deliver innovative, quality and cost effective solutions to our Commercial organization.
  • Juggle multiple priorities and projects, all while ensuring teams are working optimally to deliver on committed outcomes.
  • Oversee/Facilitate cross-functional work teams including external vendors to define project scope and objectives, develop preliminary project plan and design.
  • Determine necessary resources and project timelines.

You will work and learn more about:

  • Pharmaceutical business
  • The role of Digital Marketing in Pharma and Healthcare

  • Bachelor of Science in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.


  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably including leading small to medium teams of developers.
  • Web Development within Web Content Management Systems (preferably SDL Tridion).
  • Fluent in Web Systems technologies: Java/J2EE, Web application servers, Portlets, Spring, SOA, REST Services, Databases, LDAP, Security, system integration, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Experience with Agile Development Principles.
  • Experience with SDLC Processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.


  • Experience in a Healthcare or similar environment.
  • UX/UI experience.
  • Solutions Architecture.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a passion for continuous improvement.
