Merck Research Lab is currently recruiting for a Summer Internto work with Global Clinical Trial Operations (GCTO) for the RegionalTeam.  GCTO is a global organizationoperating in over 50 countries and is responsible to deliver Merck’s diversedevelopment portfolio comprising over 200 clinical trials in compliance withglobal and local regulations. The Regional organization is comprised of 4distinct regions (North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific, and Europe) andis responsible for a significant proportion of the GCTO budget, staff anddeliverables.

The intern will engage with GCTO leadership team and generalstaffing team members for participation in and/or leading projects that supportregional operations driving the efficient and ethical conduct of clinicaltrials across the region.  Activities mayinclude (but are not limited to):

  • Generation of performance metrics
  • Support of resource management
  • Development of effective communications
  • Development of tools to enhance investigator relationships
  • Process improvements.


  • Required: Candidates must be currently enrolled in a full-time BS/BA degree program in a science-related discipline.
  • Candidates must be returning to school in the Fall of 2018.
  • Candidates must have completed at least (2) years of collegiate study by June of 2018.
  • RequiredExperience:

  • Candidates must be available to work full-time for 9-12 weeks beginning in May or June of 2018
