How will you invent the future?

As a Technical Analyst – Process Analytics Tools at Merck’s Austin IT HUB, you will be part of inventing tomorrow. Our Innovative centers are where great people come together and deliver solutions that save and improve lives. We are seeking motivated talent interested in solving problems to improve tomorrow.

You will:

  • Work within the Merck Manufacturing IT organization and with partners to develop and implement real-time analytical systems on the manufacturing shop floor and research pilot plants.

  • Integrate new instrument technologies and sources of data to increase manufacturing yields, enable real time product release testing, and adapt control systems.

  • Drive business process design through the application of Six Sigma and other operational excellence techniques.

  • Develop an understanding of our customer facing team’s requirements and ensure our platforms deliver immediate and long term capabilities.

  • Develop best practice recommendations and author standards.

  • Keep abreast of new technologies, methodologies, industry practices and standards.


  • B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science or related fields

Required Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience configuring/implementing manufacturing process analytics tools (Siemens SIPAT and/or uMetrics SIMCA).

  • Strong analytical thinker and problem solving skills with a strong understanding of manufacturing process analytics.

  • Motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Prior experience facilitating meetings and workshops.

  • Experience with change and communications management.

Preferred Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix work environment.

  • Familiarity with laws, rules and regulations applicable to Pharma industry or other regulated industry experience.

  • Experienced in creating and reviewing GMP SDLC documentation.

  • Experience responding to audit requests and participation in inspection readiness activities.

  • Analytical thinker demonstrating experience in optimizing manufacturing processes.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Superior written, listening, communication and influencing skills.
