Merck Research Lab is currently recruiting for a Clinical
Trial Encoder intern for the 2018 summer season. Under the guidance of the US
Management team, the Clinical Trial Encoder intern will support the Global Data
Operations Manual Encoding and Vocabulary Management group in one   or more of the following activities:



  • Manual encoding of adverse events, medical history, medications and lab tests.
  • Execution of data management reports in our clinical
    trial systems in support of encoding activities.
  • Supporting the updates to process documents.
  • Supporting the updates to training materials.
  • Other activities that arise as a need to support the
    group.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Required:
    Candidates must be currently enrolled in a full-time BS/BA degree program
    in nursing, pre-medicine, health sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Candidates
    must be returning to school in the Fall of 2018.
  • Candidates
    must have completed at least (2) years of college study by June of 2018.


  • Required
    Experience:



  • Candidates
    must be available to work full-time for 9-12 weeks beginning in May or June
    of 2018.
  • Candidates
    must have a good working knowledge
    of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel.


  • Preferred
    Experience:



  • At least
    (1) completed course in anatomy / physiology (or equivalent).
  • An interest
    in the pharmaceutical, medical, or related scientific fields.
