Merck Research Lab is currently
recruiting for a co-op student within Infectious Diseases and Vaccines. This
Co-op position will assist in chemical biology-based technology platform
development using mammalian cell-based culture, cell lysis procedures, and
western blotting. The student will also
help to drive the development of new synthetic chemistry and cellular chemistry
methodologies. In addition, the student
will be expected to work with their mentor to identify and execute a research
project during the co-op experience.
Candidates must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate majoring in
Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field as a sophomore or above.
must be returning to school following completion of the co-op.
must have a minimum GPA of 3.1.
must be available to work full-time for up to 6 months beginning in early 2018
have experience with basic lab techniques such as pipetting and solution
with Western Blotting and other similar immunoassays.
with mammalian cell culture and cell lysis methods.
desire to learn chemical biology methods.
motivated and driven and willing to take initiative to learn new science
oral and written communication skills
using a PC computer and proficient in Windows-based operating systems and basic
applications, such as spreadsheets and databases
