Safety Assessment and LaboratoryAnimals Resources (SALAR) helps advance high quality drug candidates intodevelopment by defining the non–clinical safety and selectivity of leadcompounds. SALAR employees evaluate Lead Op candidates and preclinical toxicityof drug development candidates, provide mechanistic understanding ofdrug-induced toxicity, and assess implications for human safety. SALAR provides collaborative research inanimal model development, veterinary medical and animal care, and researchfacility management. Safety Assessment also responds to regulatory questions insupport of drug registration.

As part of our global team, you’ll have theopportunity to collaborate with talented and dedicated colleagues whiledeveloping and expanding your career.Intern project summary: TheSummer Intern in the Investigative Developmental and Reproductive Toxicology(iDART) group would have an opportunity to understand current regulatoryguidance for testing novel chemical entities; importantly, the intern willfurther explore various emerging novel innovative assays to predict DART riskincluding genomic-based approaches to explore transcriptional changes underlyingnormal human development and the effects of drug exposure. The intern will learn techniques to identifynovel molecular biomarkers relevant to developmental toxicity.
