Merck Research Lab is currently recruiting a co-op student within the Engineering group the Infectious Disease and Vaccines department. The co-op will be working with other engineers and microbiologists to help develop and implement novel solutions to enable cutting-edge anti-microbial research including bioreactors, automation/robotic systems, and process development.



Qualifications


Education:

  • Required: Candidates must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in an engineering program (biomedical preferred) with sufficient coursework to be prepared for a co-op role.

  • Candidates must be returning to school following the co-op assignment.

  • Required Experience:



  • Candidates must be available to work full-time for 4-6 months beginning in summer of 2018

  • Candidates must have experience with biological laboratory techniques such as sterile technique

  • Candidates must have experience with and knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

  • Preferred Experience:

  • Prior computer programming experience

  • Previous virology or microbiology experience

  • Prior coursework in the life sciences
