The Biologics Process Technology lead will provide strong technical leadership in translating current, second generation and next generation drug substance processes design into operational requirements of a multi-product facility capable of manufacturing current and next generation drug substance processes for biologics.

- Work with the Operations Leader to develop strategies to optimize maximum usage of the new facility and also plan for Next Generation Factory with smaller perfusion based bioreactors for high titer, continuous manufacturing processes.

- Provide options to optimize the downstream purification facility to handle higher titer processes and deploy technical single use solutions where feasible with focus on buffer and media.

- Work with the GES lead to design bioreactors with the ability to reduce batch sizes and build expandability for flexible processes at different titers, batch sizes and demand.

- Establish multiple business processes and technologies to enable process design to achieve six sigma performance.

- Work closely with all key partners including Operations Lead, Capital team lead and other members of the Capital Project Team, Commercialization, Technology, R&D and product specific teams.


Education / Work Experience Requirement:

- Masters in Biological Sciences with a minimum of (15) years work related experience

- Ph.D. in Biological Sciences with a minimum of (12) years work related experience

Required Experience:

- Proven track record of drug substance process design to fit in a modern mammalian cell culture factory and perfusion based processes in next generation plant.

- Experience in process design, plant modeling and simulation across multiple modalities

- Strong technical, business & financial skills

- Ability to manage multiple programs in matrix environment, strong collaborative skills

- Ability to work strategically as well as in a detail-oriented framework.

- Successful track record of validation of multiple biologics drug substances and strong understanding of global regulatory & site inspection requirements

Preferred Experience:

- Extensive experience managing multiple biologics in well-established biotech companies
