Ⅰ. School Introduction

Sun Yat-sen University(SYSU) is one of the top 10 universities in China. Its preclinical medicine and clinical medicine have been selected to build world-class disciplines. Shenzhen campus of SYSU, taking medicine and engineering as main disciplines, is one of the main campuses built in accordance with the standards of world-class universities jointly by SYSU and Shenzhen Municipality. Ⅱ. Recruiting Positions and Disciplines

Department heads, academic leaders, professors, associate and assistant professors, young  talented scientists and post-doctoral researchers will be recruited. Main disciplines include Histology and Anatomy, Pathology, Physiology and Pathophysiology, Medical Genetics, Medical Microbiology / Pathogen Biology, Immunology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Molecular Cell Biology, Bioinformatics. Main research fields include infection and immunity, neuroscience, stem cells and regenerative medicine, tumor biology, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, medical data analysis and systems medicine.

Ⅳ. Recruiting Requirements

Candidates should have a doctorate degree with required research abilities and academic skills, good communication and teamwork spirit; proper attitudes towards study, high dedication, enthusiasm for teaching, the ability to teach basic undergraduate courses or professional core courses; and the ability to carry out international cooperation and communication.

1. Recruitment Program of Global Experts(Thousand Talents Program)

 1) The Recruitment Program for Innovative Talents (Long Term)

Applicants should have earned overseas academic degree and are willing to work in China on a full-time basis; with full professorships or the equivalent in prestigious foreign universities and Research and Development(“R&D”) Institutes, or with senior titles from well-known international companies are invited for appointment as Innovative Talents (Long Term) at SYSU.

 2) The Recruitment Program for Foreign Experts (Long Term)

Applicants should be non-Chinese nationals and should possess overseas academic degree, with full professorships or the equivalent in prestigious foreign universities and R&D Institutes, or with senior titles from well-known international companies.

 3) The Recruitment Program for Young Professionals

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree granted by prestigious universities outside China, and have continuous overseas research experience for at least 3 years, with formal teaching and researching positions in overseas prestigious universities, institutions or enterprises.

 2. Recruitment Program of “The Yangtze River Scholars” Program

 1) Distinguished Professor Program

A doctorate degree is generally required. The applicants are expected to be actively engaged in teaching and research. For overseas applicants, they must have at least an associate professorship (or equivalent positions) at distinguished overseas universities. Applicants from mainland China must have obtained professorships (or equivalent positions).

 2) Young Scholars Program

A doctorate degree is generally required. The applicant should be actively engaged in teaching and research. Applicants from mainland China are expected to be at least associate professors (or higher positions).

 3. “Top100 Talents” Program of Sun Yat-sen University

 1) Leading Talents

Applicants should be at least associate professors in overseas prestigious universities or R&D Institutes; at least professors in domestic prestigious universities or R&D Institutes. Applicants should be engaged in innovative, promising and key common researches with high impact scientific results.

 2) Outstanding Young and middle-aged Talents

Applicants should have working experiences in prestigious universities or R&D Institutes in domestic or abroad, as well as rich academic training and research backgrounds. Applicants should have great potentials in scientific research and technology innovation, promising research development, professional achievements recognized at home and abroad, first author or corresponding author in international top journals or well-recognized science results.

 3) Young Academic Talents

Applicants should have work or study experience in high-level research institutions at home or abroad and certain scientific research accumulation; creative thinking, strong innovation and great development potential, high-level and innovative achievements are also required in the field.

 4. Research Fellows of Sun Yat-sen University

Applicants should be outstanding postdoctoral researchers or doctoral candidates from domestic and international well-known universities or research institutions, or those with work experience at prestigious universities or research institutions at home and abroad.

 5. Post-doctoral Researchers of Sun Yat-sen University

Applicants should be no more than 35 years old and possess a Doctoral Degree within 3 years, and with academic experience and strong scientific research ability at home and aboard.

Ⅴ. Remuneration

The university and the school will provide a salary and other benefits that can match the qualification of the appointees. For senior, the salary and housing subsidy are negotiable.

Scholar with rich academic achievements can apply for innovation team and leading scholar positions of the “Pearl River Talent Program”of Guangdong Province. Awardees can obtain up to 3.5 million RMB of housing subsidies and 1 million RMB living allowance per year at maximum after approval.
