School of Medicine-Open Rank-Dean's Office/Personalized Medicine Institute

The Hugh Kaul Personalized Medicine Institute at the University of Alabama at Birmingham invites applicants for open rank and open tenure professorship. The mission of the Institute is to conduct research that advances personalized and precision medicine and to apply that research in the service of patients. The locus of faculty appointment will be in the appropriate Department in the School of Medicine. Candidates must have an MD or other doctoral degree in a related field.

All excellent candidates will be considered. Individuals with expertise in the following areas are strongly encouraged: genomics; analysis of variant pathogenicity; transcriptomic; assay development and optimization; model organisms (esp. drosophila); drug repurposing; drug screening; medicinal chemistry; precision oncology; immunotherapy; and pharmacogenomics. Post-doctoral experience and experience in grant writing are highly desired.
