The researcher will support the Senior Vice President Academic & Registrar in delivering on the ongoing review of the academic promotions process and related issues. This will involve carrying out research, drafting and administrative work to support that programme of work, and the employee will be expected to carry out any additional duties as may reasonably be required within the general scope and level of the post.
Specifically this role will involve research and benchmarking against promotions schemes in other academic institutions nationally and internationally as well as modelling best practice schema for the consideration of the committee. Preparation of supporting documentation and research papers summarising matters including the gender proofing of proposals will be required. Drafting experience and a familiarity with legislative frameworks and a legal background would be essential. Clear research and writing skills are essential as well as an ability to draft reports, write minutes where required, and proof sensitive documentation.
An ability to synthesise and analyse large volumes of material to be summarised into coherent documents for committee meeting and reporting purposes is essential. Good ICT skills to support and effect same also required. Strong appreciation of procedural matters, an understanding of numeracy and strong oral and written communication skills required.

Salary: €21,459-€33,930 p.a. (IUA Salary Scale)
