One vacant position for a full-time University Assistant at the Chair of Ferrous Metallurgy (Department Metallurgy) at the beginning of january 2018 in a fixed-term to 4 years of employment. Salary Group B1 of the Austrian labor agreement, monthly minimum excl. supplements € 2.731,00 for 40 hours per week (14 times a year), actual classification is according to previous relevant experience.
Master degree preferably in metallurgy, alternatively in material science with fundamental knowledge in metallographic techniques and characterization methods. Experience in using Optical Microscopy as well as Scanning Electron Microscopy is required. The scientific work comprises the detailed analysis of non-metallic inclusions in steels with various characterization methods as well as microstructure analyses related to Inclusion Metallurgy. For teaching activities, fluent German and English is needed.
Experience in performing automated SEM/EDS inclusion analyses as well as standardized inclusion characterization using Optical Microscopy. Proactive, well-organized person with ability to work in a team
