One vacant position for a full-time University Assistant at the Chair of Materials Science and Testing of Polymers (Department Polymer Engineering and Science) at the earliest possible date in a fixed-term to 4 years of employment. Salary Group B1 of the Austrian labor agreement, monthly minimum excl. supplements € 2.731,00 for 40 hours per week (14 times a year), actual classification is according to previous relevant experience.


 


Requirements:


Master's degree in the field of polymer engineering and science, material science, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or an equivalent degree in the sense of the desired qualification; good German skills in oral and written form.


 


Desirable Qualifications:


Background in the deformation and failure behaviour of continuously fibre reinforced polymers (Composites); knowledge in mechanical testing and designing of continuously fibre reinforced polymers (Composites) under monotonic and cyclic loads; experience in working with mechanical, specifically servo-hydrolic testing machines; basic knowledge in the fatigue strength analysis of materials and components; good English skills in oral and written form.

Initiative and responsible behaviour; ability to work independently; commitment to cooperation and assistance in administrative tasks, teaching and research; able to work in a team; willingness to develop a dissertation.
