UCD Post-Doctoral Research Fellow Level 1, UCD School of Civil Engineering (Temporary)
Applications are invited for a UCD Post-Doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within the UCD School of Civil Engineering. This is a temporary post.
Under the revised Bathing Water Directive that is now in force, more stringent bathing water quality standards shall apply. This calls for an integrated approach to coastal zone management essential to the sustainability of tourism and aquaculture operations within the coastal zone of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The new legislation requires novel and innovative approaches designed to maintain public health protection that will ultimately involve the rolling out of prediction models for bathing water quality. The development of models in this project will be based on establishing statistical relationships of hydrometric and/ or meteorological parameters with measurements of microbial contamination. The project will focus on selected bathing waters in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Salary: €36,489 - €42,181 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience
