Postdoctoral Research Fellow - 17/12096
There is a vacancy for a postdoctoral research fellow position within SpaceLab at the Department of Geography. The position is for a period of 4 years.
SpaceLab is a research group with a basis in human geography, working at the intersection of climate, energy and society. It forms part of the Centre for Climate and Energy Transformation (CET). One of the key activities of SpaceLab is the research project European cities as actors in climate and energy transformation, funded by Bergen Research Foundation (BFS).
We are now seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to work in this project. The postdoc will work closely with two PhD candidates already engaged, as well as the Principal Investigator. She or he will also be expected to take a lead coordinating role in SpaceLab.
Applicants must present a research project that complements and contributes to the European cities project (a brief project description can be found here http://spacelab.b.uib.no/projects/climate-and-energy-transformation/overview/ (or by contacting PI Håvard Haarstad).
Specifically, the project should address or include:
- How cities can contribute to sustainable transformation
- An analytical framework based in human geography, bringing on board current theoretical advances and trends in the field. Current project members are working with varieties of relational perspectives, network theories and assemblage theory.
- One or several case studies where such theories and perspectives can be applied or tested. These should be based on Norwegian or European contexts. Empirical approaches that include co-production of knowledge with stakeholders, and that have concrete strategies for communicating findings, are particularly welcome.
