Perturbative approaches to quantum field theory automata
This project explores the idea of physics as emergent from quantum information processing.
The idea is to derive a Quantum Cellular Automaton (QCA) description of physics at Planck scale starting from principles information-theoretic nature.
On one side, the proposed model recovers the usual Quantum Field Theory dynamics at the “Fermi scale” of particle physics, on the other side it predicts new phenomenology in the ultra-relativistic domain.
The main research topics of the project are:
- QCA for the foundations of quantum field theory;
- Operational probabilistic theories;
- Quantum informtaion in quantum field theory;
This research will be carried out in collaboration with the QUIT group in Pavia.
