It is now widely established that motivation is one of the most affecting factors in second

language learning. The last decade saw academic interest in L2 motivation increasing significantly, with an impressive amount of effort spent in the identification of motivational factors and specific strategies which help to trigger motivation in the learners.Research (Guilloteaux & Dörnyei 2008; Alrabai 2014) has shown how the use of correct motivational strategies can enhance motivation in students. However, the choice of motivational strategies still proves one of the “most serious sources of difficulty” according to teachers (Dörnyei

& Ushioda 2013, 105), thus underlining the need for revised curricula for teachers' professional

development, designed to include guidance in choosing and deploying the correct motivational

strategies
