As a member of the HR Data Visualization & Reporting team within Merck’s Workforce Analytics & Planning organization, the selected candidate will support reporting and analytics for the Merck organization globally. In addition to standard reporting, the selected candidate will partner with colleagues in Workforce Analytics to support advanced analytic initiatives. This includes responsibility for and taking initiative around the following:

Consult with individuals seeking HR data to understand their business need and identify the most effective, efficient and compliant manner for the data to be obtained/reported.

Create and deliver periodic and ad-hoc reports utilizing HR Reporting Tools (e.g. SAP ECC, BI, Spotfire) and Remedy.

Perform simple-to-complex data manipulation and aggregation of data from multiple HR data sources.

Collaborate with HR Operations colleagues to identify issues and solutions related to the HR reporting tools or employee data quality.



Bachelor's degree in math, statistics, finance, business or other discipline


Minimum of 2 years' data analysis or reporting experience

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required

Strong analytical and problem solving skills and a high degree of initiative and creativity required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Attention to detail

Ability to seek direction when needed as well as work independently and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment

Understanding of and appreciation for basic data privacy concepts and principles (e.g., importance of securing data at rest and in transit, ensuring data is used in a way that is consistent with the intended purpose)


HR experience

Proficiency with data visualization (Excel graphs, Spotfire, Visier)

Experience with SAP HR ECC/BI or other HR applications desired

Experience with statistical analysis software desired (R preferred)
