To demonstrate an innovative technology RE Mida Project aims to demonstrate the technical, economic and environmental suitability of an innovative technology reducing the contribution to greenhouse effect from waste treatment sector. The proposal addresses to the reduction of greenhouse effect from landfilling through methane (CH 4 )
oxidation and reduction of other greenhouse gases (GHGs) in the residual landfill gas (LFG) with low calorific value.
(2) To facilitate the implementation of EU and national environmental policy
The demonstratie systems aim to promote a discussion on the EU Landfill Directivein particular
regarding the LFG treatment and use, focusing on the case of residual LFG with low calorific value. It encourages the development of guidelines and action plansfor the management and the treatment of LFG with low calorific value when conventional treatment technologies are technically or economically unsuitable.
