The aim of the project is the study of the pro-blems that typically arise in a high tempe-rature process, in particular: i) the flow stress and the formability of the material as a function of the process temperatures and strain rates, ii) the final microstructure obtainable as a function of the different thermal cycles and cooling rates, iii) the heating system and its inte-gration in the machine, iv) the cooling system and its integration in the machine, v) the interaction between the tube and the tools, in terms of contract conditions, heat transfer coefficients, friction and wear as a function both the pressure and of the temperatures, vi) the tool paths and the bending machine set up parameters in order to bend the tubes in hot conditions without failures or instabilities phenomena.
