Assistant Professor in Ecology

The Department of Biological Sciences at Marquette University is expanding its strength in Ecology & Environmental Science and seeks a candidate at the Assistant Professor level to start in August 2018. Preference will be given to candidates who are testing broad conceptual issues in Ecology using field-based data collection, with an emphasis in Ecosystem, Community, Population, or Physiological Ecology. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience, with a demonstrated potential for high quality research and teaching. The successful candidate is expected to establish an innovative research program funded by extramural grants.

Salary, benefits, and startup are commensurate with those of other research universities.  Teaching responsibilities of a junior faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences are typically one class per semester in the candidate's area of expertise. The candidate is expected to participate in the research training of graduate and undergraduate students.

The Department of Biological Sciences is a vibrant collaborative research community, consisting of 23 faculty members with over 30 PhD students and a growing graduate program.
