Assistant Professor of Botany
The Department of Biology at Hendrix College invites applications for a tenure track position for an Assistant Professor of Botany to begin in August 2018. The College seeks to extend its tradition of excellence in teaching and scholarship by attracting faculty who combine mastery of their disciplines with broad intellectual interests and commitment to the aims of a liberal arts college. The successful applicant will teach botanical courses in the Biology curriculum and participate in the Environmental Studies program. The successful candidate will have a 3/3 teaching assignment with 25% reassigned for directing an undergraduate research program, dependent on continued research productivity. Research that combines field and molecular approaches, and/or uses bioinformatics is preferred. A doctorate is expected by the start date; however, applicants who are ABD at the time of application will be considered.
