The Department of Computer Science at the University of Vermont is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, with duties to start in late August of 2018. Research emphases should be in areas of Data Science, broadly defined to include Machine Learning, Big Data, Computer Vision, Data Visualization, or other data-intensive computing areas.

The applicant must have a PhD in Computer Science or a closely-related area, a strong research record and agenda, the ability to teach a variety of engaging undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science, Complex Systems, or Data Science, and the desire and ability to supervise master’s and doctoral students. Postdoctoral experience is a plus.
