The Department of Physiology, University of Maryland School of Medicine (http://medschool.umaryland.edu/physiology), invites outstanding scientists with expertise and research interests in cardiovascular biology to apply for a tenure-track faculty position. The expected rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, rank and tenure status is dependent on candidate’s qualifications. Candidates who develop an integrated understanding of physiological and/or pathological processes, spanning from molecule to organ and body system, are especially encouraged to apply. The Department of Physiology, ranked 11th in NIH funding, is renowned for its research excellence. Internationally recognized faculty lead cutting edge research programs in neuroscience and cardiovascular, renal, and muscle biology. We enjoy highly collaborative scientific ventures with clinical and basic science faculty throughout the University. State-of-the-art facilities include core laboratories for microscopy, imaging, genetics, genomics, physiological phenotyping, and structural biology. NIH-funded training programs in cardiac biology, vascular biology, muscle biology, neuroscience, and integrative membrane biology enhance our research activities. M.D., Ph.D. or equivalent degree is required.
