Dynamic non-linear soil-structure interaction.
The research work aims at the development and calibration of a numerical procedure for the dynamic analysis of large 3D soil-structure systems unde seismic excitation; the procedure, based on the Finite Element method and on the performance of time-domain step-by-step analyses, exploits an extremely efficient constitutive non-linear model to represent the mechanical behavior of the ground. Within this context, the focus of the activity will be on the dissipation model, also with reference to the elastic phase of the response. The overall efficiency of the procedure will be also improved as much as possible.
