  • Research area: Organic Synthesis

The teaching assistent (category AAP) will assist in the organization and guidance of educational tasks in the area of organic chemistry for the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Bioengineering Sciences, both in courses regarding basic organic chemistry and in more advanced courses in (bio)organic and medicinal chemistry. This includes assisting in laboratory and theoretical exercises in organic chemistry. The candidate will combine these tasks with PhD-research in the field of the organic synthesis of medicinally relevant compounds, including peptides, peptidomimetics and related heterocyclic structures. The assistant will contribute to PR-activities.

The candidate should comply with the requirements for performing doctoral research. The candidate should have a diploma of Master of Science (MSc) in Bioengineering Sciences, MSc in Chemistry or equivalent.

Profound basic knowledge of organic chemistry and a strong interest for fundamental and applied research in the area of organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry.

A very good command of both Dutch and English is required
