Data Management in mixed Cloud and Fog Computing environment based on data movement strategies
Research activities will refer to the European funded project H2020 DITAS (Data-intensive applications Improvement by moving daTA and computation in mixed cloud/fog environmentS) with a particular emphasis on the definition of a suitable data management system for applications built on a mixed cloud and fog computing environment. Data movement strategies will be define to optimize the data transfer among data centers and the edge of the network with the aim of improve the performances of the applications in terms of reliability, availability, security, and energy savings. The design of these strategies will be based on data-utility concept which ties the requirements that the application on the data and the intrisic characteristics of the data.
